This is the plants page. This list was started by visiting green roof sites in Portland, OR. We started with a list of Garland Company plants used on the Hamilton apartments, about 30 plants that had been researched by Garland's Horticultural expert Dr. John White. subsequently, we added plant lists from American Hydrotech, the Appendix for the "Greenbacks for Green Cities" publication, other vendors, Pat Lando at Toatal Work of Art in Portland, OR, our own horticulturists and permaculturists and friends. Megan Ritchie researched mosses. Russell Adams researched cacti. Once we had a fairly large list of previously researched plants, we took them through several filters that had to do with native plant categories and regional sensitivity. Mike Broili is responsible for the current list, our most advanced yet.
