In the best of all possible worlds we would be able to monitor each of the many benefits attributed to green roofs: acoustical insulation, acoustical absorption, thermal benfits of insulation and thermal mass, storm water filtration, filtration of air pollutants, diminished heat sink effects, etc. However, our current total project funding is $7,500. This includes all staff pay, paper clip...everything. So with some luck we will be able to monitor storm water run-off. Other factors we can comment on, but we will not have the finances to give them a numerical face.

Below is a document detailing options for monitoring that we are considering. We hope that you will criticize the options and offer suggestions that will improve our efforts. After we have gathered your comments we will survey our resources and make our best decision about the equipment and strategy of use.
